photos of the silhouettes and wands

by Blue-Eyed Bride on April 29, 2008

I wanted to post some pictures of the wand project. I have two containers that are both full of these pink and white wands. They move nicely and I think it will be a nice alternative to throwing something at the send-off. And the whole project cost less than $30.00!

I got our silhouettes back from the framer and I’m so pleased with them. I wish they were more similar in size, but Todd’s head was obviously too big when he was 4 years old to fit on a smaller card. Just kidding. I’m the one on the left and Todd is on the right. He’s saying, “Will you marry me?”

better late than never

by Blue-Eyed Bride on April 29, 2008

A while ago I promised to post pictures of the adorable bachelorette party invitations that my maid of honor, Catherine, created for the bridesmaids and me. She created an adorable velum pocket with a silhouette of a Texas-looking scene. Catherine included lyrics to some of my favorite songs on two of the cards; Heads Carolina, Tails California (or Ft. Worth, TX) on the first card and Sangria Wine on the New Vintage Wine Trail card. She’s so talented and so creative!

isn’t the little curtain of ribbons so adorable for the lingerie shower card?!

lovely letterpress

by Blue-Eyed Bride on April 29, 2008

With four days to go until the big day, I thought I’d finally post pictures of the invitations. We were able to incorporate the lace design along the side of the square letter press invitation. We stuck with the Bickham Script font on the reply card and reception card. I am totally in love with the letterpress. I don’t think they ended up being as big of a production as the Save the Date, but I’m not at all disappointed with that either. The invitations look the way I want our whole wedding to look and I think our “paper suite” has set the stage for our event.

welcome bag bonanza

by Blue-Eyed Bride on April 29, 2008

Todd’s mom came over last night and we set up an assembly line and stuffed all of the welcome bags for our out of town guests. We had fun stuffing those 60 bags. I am a little concerned how I’m going to get to Greenville in my tiny Jetta with all these bags! We’re running out of places to put them in the house, and Boudreaux can’t wait until we leave the room so he can rummage through a bag to get a Gullah Gourmet Shrimp and Grits packet. Yum!

Dasani water, shrimp and grits, something sweet, and something salty!
bonanza!

no false lashes needed

by Blue-Eyed Bride on April 29, 2008

I thought I wanted to have my make up professionally done on the wedding day and I really wanted to try false lashes. Then I got scared. I remembered that dreadful Britney Spears interview with Matt Lauer where her false lashes were falling off. Disaster!

I swear by Bobbi Brown makeup (just like my friend over at The Life and Times…) and decided to find out what she had in the world of mascara. I found this:

Lash Glamour Lengthening Mascara

I love it! I use one coat of my usual Everything Mascara and then go over with this awesome stuff that lasts all day! All you brides-to-be should give it a try!
