fireproof

by Blue-Eyed Bride on October 5, 2008

Todd and I saw Fireproof tonight. Many of my favorite bloggers have already seen it and my parents saw it last weekend. Based on all of their reviews, I had a feeling I’d like it.

Well we both loved it. Like Amy said, the acting wasn’t the best, but I was able to get past that really quickly. I won’t tell you much about the movie, but I do think that everyone should see it. Brides-to-be, newlyweds, not-so-newlyweds, and single women will all appreciate the Message in this movie.

There was a really wonderful analogy comparing a marriage to salt and pepper. They’re both extremely different, but one can’t survive without the other. You need to see the movie to understand, but Todd and I both thought of the photo of our wedding bands, the symbol of our covenant, that was taken on our wedding day with salt and pepper shakers.

This is going to sound CRAZY given we’ve yet to meet, but I’ve really missed you. Your blog is the first I’ll be catching up with and I hope to have a new post up by tomorrow on mine.

Since I’ve been out of the blogosphere for the past week, I’ve yet to read anything about this movie but after reading your assessment, I’m interested in seeing it myself. Knowing how alike we are, I have to imagine that if you liked it, I will as well!

Way too cute photo of the rings! We went and saw it with another couple and at first everyone thought I had picked the worst movie. But once the movie was further along it was amazing! Even Mr. Guru teared up!

Wow, that picture is AWESOME! You should send that to the church that made the movie somehow. They would love it!

Thanks for the link!

Who is in the movie? Here in South Africa we only get movies a couple months after you guys, so I must make a mental note to see it when it comes out!

My hubs and I went and saw the movie this weekend as well. How awesome that you have a picture like that as a constant reminder of what marriage looks like!

I have never seen the movie but I have heard about it. At first I thought this picture was from the movie, but the fact that it is actually yours is even better! What a cool shot!

We have the SAME picture…well, almost.

Too funny. I thought our photographer was kidding when she said it is becoming popular…

I agree with Amy! I think you should sent that picture into the church who made the movie!

I just saw “Fireproof” last night, too! I LOVE your pic the of the salt and pepper shaker…I went in expecting a big cheesefest, and while there were definitely some cheesy moments, and a couple of bad actors, I was pleasantly surprised. I think I’m going to blog about the movie today because I want everyone to go see it!
