I don’t think it’s any secret how much I loved our professional wedding photos. It was the best money spent on wedding details and our photographer is a true artist.

I also love these two photos (in poor quality) from Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott’s house. I love all the photos lining the hallway and the two gorgeous prints of the two of them in their bedroom. Someone posted a comment on Mojito Maven’s post about it only being right to hang photos of the two of you in your bedroom. No kid photos, no parent photos. Just the two of you in your romantic room.

Because I only had about 12 photos of all different sizes, there was no way that they’d all fill up the walls, so we ordered more. A lot more. In 4×6, 5×7, and 8×10. I framed one large bridal portrait and then there are some really fun candids. We got some gorgeous photos of our parents and one of my favorites is of Todd’s hands.
The frame shop called yesterday to tell me that they’ve finished framing them all, so we’ll get the hanging done tomorrow before our house guests arrive.
I’m not the first to post about this. Mojito Maven asked for everyone’s advice on what to do with wedding photos. I promise I’m not trying to steal her post. I’m just so excited about our photos being finished. I actually don’t want anyone’s opinion on whether or not they like my idea of hanging up all the photos. We’ve paid for the photos and the framing and we’re doing it anyway! I have a few small prints in the guest bedrooms. The photographer gave us a disc with all of the high-res images and I’ve been able to print these on my own.
As the years go by, I plan to have Kelly come take photos of our children and our home and we’ll replace our wedding photos with these.
Mrs. Newlywed also did a post similar to this one asking for your opinions on having photos of yourself in your home. I sort of think of it like this: it’s our home and we’re starting our own little family. I have photos of my brother, my parents, his parents, our dogs, and us as a couple. These are all the people (and canines) I love and I’m happy to see their pictures hanging on our hallway walls.
I think one of my favorites that I ordered is of my mom and me dancing to “Sweet Caroline” at the end of the night. When Neal Diamond says, “Reaching out– touching me— touching you” we reached out and held hands and the picture turned out so great. It’ll be hanging in our hallway.

I think there is absolutely nothing wrong with having mass amounts of pictures of the people you love in your home – and if many of them are from your wedding… who cares? I love looking at other people’s pictures and one my favorite things to do as a little girl was walk down my grandparents’ long hallway and have my Mama J tell me about all the photos – she has hundreds of them in old-timey collage frames lining the walls. Like her own little family story.
Plus, when you’re old and wrinkly, you’ll be able to look at your gorgeous wedding photos and say “damn, we were two hot cookies!”
I like your post!
It makes me feel a little more comfortable with the idea of putting a photo or two out of us. The difference is of course that Misadventure Manor is actually an 800 sq foot apartment, so there are no stairs or hallways to line. I have a few empty frames, maybe I’ll start small by throwing a 3×5 out there.
I love that hallway with all the pictures! Please please please post pictures once you hang all your photos! I know it will look amazing!!!
I love the hallway photos. Its so hard to order photos from the wedding because we liked so many and they each hold a special place in my heart. I have been so indecisive I have put it off. Seeing these pics inspires me!!
Obviously I LOVE this…please please please post photos ASAP!!!!!!
Question: Did you order the prints from your photographer that you had framed or did you have them printed at a local store? I’m trying to decide if I should pay the extra and order them through my photog or just send them to Walgreens??? I’m sure they would look nicer going the pro way.
Can’t wait to see pics of your hallway!
My mother has her entire staircase wall full of photos of everyone, in all sizes. I love the look – however, be careful – it DOES make navigating the stairs tricky sometimes (ie: when you’ve got some big in your hands). I have been known to accidentally knock photos off the wall because of a bulky jacket or large laundry pile.
With that being said – LOVE the look. But, don’t invest in expensive frames!!! They have a high chance of breaking!

I love your post! I agree with you on it’s your own family and your house! One should do as they wish! My best friend has photos up of them all through there house and it looks great!
I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE YOUR HALLWAY!!! I think you know by now that I would have them hanging from floor to ceiling too. haha!Great that you have the CD for easy and lots o’ printing!!!
I want to see the pictures and how they look in the hallway!
I think it is a great idea! If you look at my blog (there are pictures through out), I have pictures lining my staircase of my kids. I wanted to cover my house with the things that make me most happy…memories are what make us smile so every time I look at them, I remember the outfit and even how they acted (good and bad =)) at that specific shoot. Good for you – I will definitely be back to see the pictures!!
I love this idea and cannot wait to see how it turns out! Your wedding photos are stunning and I think it’s great you’re enjoying them. I love seeing ours as I walk from room to room and can’t imagine anyone thinking its tacky to put pictures YOU enjoy up in YOUR house! I’m SO excited to see the final project!!
I have the same hallway photo in my inspiration folder! I did at our old place (a huge modern loft) and it looked great. In the new house – I’m not sold on it yet. I can’t wait to see pictures of how your wall turns out!
I am also so VERY inspired by Tori Spelling’s house. Some of her stuff is pretty out there for me, but a lot of it is so beautiful, especially that master. I agree, only lovey-duvvy photos in the bedroom!
Oh they’ll look gorgeous!! Can’t wait to see them!
I always love looking at wedding pictures so hang them! My friends gave me lots of crap about having too many pictures of mark and me but I never think there are enough! I love the idea of just me and him pictures in our bedroom. And it looks like you and me have similar tastes. I put black and silver picture frames on my christmas list this year.
I’m loving that first shot. I’m sure that they’ll look great!
And, about it being “right” to hang pictures of yourself and your family in your home…why not be surrounded by all the people/things/pets you love!?
Congrats on the wedding…post photos of your hall when you get ‘em up!
wanting and loving the wall of pics. I absolutely loved Tori and Dean’s wall when I saw it. I liked how they mixed colored and b/w with different style black frames. I want to do this when we move into our new place in NC. So i’ve told the Mr that we have to have a house with a long hallway or stairway, its a must.
I really love this idea!! I have a stack of 5×7s from our wedding pictures and am at a loss of what to do with them. I think I may have to hang onto them until we buy our house next year and pick a hallway to decorate!!
I don’t think you should wallpaper your house with your faces, but at the same time…I would rather have a meaningful picture displayed than something that just “looks nice”.
I love the picture of the photos in the stairwell, this is going to be my goal look after our wedding. However, I think my staircase maybe too narrow (we live in an OLD place) so maybe they will have to just be on the top of the landing.
I have to see a picture once you get them all hung up
I love the idea of photos all over the place
I love photo walls and have full confidence that you would execute it soo very well!
That picture of you and your Mom sounds absolutely picture perfect.
these rooms are FAB!
Who are these people that don’t believe you should have photos of yourself hanging in your own home? That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Why did I spend thousands of dollars on wedding photography if the photos are never going to be seen?
The thought that people would find this act narcissistic has never crossed my mind. Is this because I am THAT narcissistic?
Oh bother.
I just put up a wedding collage on the wall of our living room…There is one big one of us an dthen all the rest are of family and I really LOVE it…I haven’t posted pictures but I will soon and can’t wait to see yours!
I know this post is older, but once I saw in your sidebar that Kelly Moore did your photos, I had to comment. She did ours, too! We’ve been married four, almost 5 years now…so Kelly has come a long way. She didn’t even have a studio then. She was out of her parents home and her apartment. She does do AMAZING work, and I can’t believe how well she’s known around the world now! My husband and I are from Louisiana, and we both went to Louisiana Tech, so we just had our pictures done right there in Ruston. Small world
Beautiful pictures, though! And you should totally put them ALL over your house!
Hi!
I must tell that blueeyedbride.com is a nice forum!
I spent tons of hours searching for a forum relevant to my hobbies.
Fortunately, I came across this website.
I’m sorry if this is a not the best section to post , but I couldn’t find more relevant http://community.westcoastsurfmag.com/KeishaTurman –
