Yesterday was exactly one month away from my birthday. It’s never too early to make a birthday wish list, right? I’ve got a few things that I’m “suggesting” to Todd in case he needs a little help figuring out what to get me for my birthday.
He never does need any help, by the way. He is such a great gift-giver and has come up with some fantastic little getaways and gifts all on his own in our years together.
But I make a little list anyway just to see what happens.
The first thing I’m thinking about is Adobe Creative Suite for our Mac. If not the full Creative Suite, then just Photoshop will do. And not Photoshop Elements. I had it on my old computer, but that belonged to my former employer, so I didn’t get to keep it obviously.

And I know you’re never supposed to ask your husband for anything that comes with a plug, but I really want this vacuum cleaner. It’s the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vacuum. Y’all would not believe the vast amounts of Boudreaux hair that collect all over our house. I love our little Oreck vacuum, but the poor thing just can’t handle all of this dog hair. We’ve also had to start vacuuming furniture and all of our draperies because the hair just goes everywhere. We have the Furminator and use it. We’ve switched his food to try to cut down on it, but he’s a Golden Retriever. Unless we shave him there’s no way to stop the problem. We just need to learn to deal with the problem. Here’s my solution:

I love the Tory Burch Leopard Pony Print Abbey. I tried them on and they look great. I just decided not to be impulsive that day and purchase them. Instead, I thought I’d put them on my birthday list and see what happens. So comfortable, too, and perfect for moms!

Isn’t this a beautiful coat? I have two black coats and a cream-colored coat already. I wear coats until they fall apart. I just don’t see the point in purchasing coats every year since they last so long. I try to buy a coat that is timeless and durable to get the most bang for my buck. But I am lacking when it comes to a fun, punchy coat with lots of color. It’s the Double Cloth Lady Day Coat from J.Crew in bright cobalt. I just love this color!

But what I really want is a collection of images from our session with Tracy Turpen at the end of the month. Y’all know that I’m constantly adding photos to our gallery wall and I just know that it will be such a fun session and we’ll want tons of prints!
So it’s just a little list I’ve put together in case Todd needs an idea. (I obviously only want *one* of these things and don’t expect them all.) I got a pretty amazing gift on June 5 of this year and every morning feels like my birthday or Christmas when I get to go into Hudson’s room and find a smile waiting for me in his crib. I can’t imagine being any happier than I am right now.
By the way, for those of you that were wondering, I’ll be 27 next month.

LOVE that coat! That is actually the first real, grown-up coat I ever purchased to go off to college in NC – mine is black and I think this might be its last year but I’ve had that thing for nearly 9 years and it has help up beautifully!
And don’t feel bad about asking for the vacuum cleaner… I would give my left boob for a Dyson instead of our cumbersome, old Dirt Devil!
This is the nerd coming out in me, but CS4 is so awesome. I use it DAILY.
Love all of your items. I ADORE my leopard flats. I wear them w/ everything. I got the creative suite for my Mac not that long ago and I’m obsessed with it!! TC IS a great gift-giver & these will send him in the perfect direction!
Love this list, it’s pretty similar to my own. I LOVE those flats too, I may have to add them to my own list and that colbat color in the coat is gorgeous!
Umm… I just got a new vaccum–it’s not the Bissel, but, it’s a pet hair eraser kind–and I’m in love with it. We have a large fur family and it’s the best thing ever.
Love, love, love that J. Crew coat! My birthday is at the end of next month… Maybe I need to put a wish list together too?!
Switch that Bissell out for the Dyson Animal.
That coat is gorgeous! I bet it would look so pretty with your blue eyes!
Oooh! I would love Adobe Creative Suite, too. I’m thinking about putting it on my Christmas or Birthday list
)
The coat and shoes are adorable too!!
I have that Bissell vaccum and L.O.V.E it! Its picks up so much hair that we didn’t know was there and our Abby doesn’t shed much. We had a Kirby salesman at our house a few weeks ago, it picked up a lot of hair and then I showed him that my Bissell would pickup more!!! We showed them. Good Luck
Those are some great items! I really need a new vacuum.
My b-day is the 8th. I love November birthdays!
I have two of those four things (the vacuum and CS4). Love them both. And, I am thisclose to buying that J.Crew coat. I was waiting until I got a free shipping coupon in my inbox
Hope you get one of those!!
I hear you on the pet hair; we have a lab and I am in a constant struggle to keep his hair under control! However, I would have to advice against the Bissel Pet Hair Eraser. I guess I had a bad experience!! It worked for a few months, but it just couldn’t keep up. I would suggest reading the reviews on target.com.
Hope you have a great birthday!
I like your list. And now I think I need those Tory Burch flats
And I have to let you know that with two very shedtastic doggies, I would not trade my dyson for the world. Seriously, it makes me happy every time I use it, it is that amazing!
Great birthday list…loving the cute shoes and the vacuum!
Those are great birthday ideas! I love the lady day coat in Cobalt, what a great color! I can’t wait to see the pictures from your upcoming session– we finally scheduled ours for November 21st and I am loving seeing what everyone else wears! Y’all will surely look amazing because you are the most adorable family, ever!
Ok now I want that coat! It is beautiful!
Love that coat!! I think the picture idea is a great one too. And I think the Furminator is a ripoff! It doesn’t help with my dogs at all! That’s why we are getting rid of all our carpet!
Love the coat! It looks very similar to this pink coat that I got at Nordstrom a couple years ago. I love the style but it is bright pink so I feel like I can only wear it once and awhile. Blue is much more versatile!
Love that coat! And I’d like Photoshop too but I’ve got to get my wish list camera first!
LOVE the coat!
I love your list! The shoes and the coat are to die for! I need to start working on mine!! Hope you have a great Monday! = )
I love your list (especially the coat). Don’t feel bad about making gift suggestions a month ahead. I’ve already starting giving my husband ideas for what he can get me for Christmas! You’ve got to plan ahead.
I want Adobe CS too, except first i want a Mac.
YAY for our birthday month coming up!!
Plus, the vacuum isn’t really a birthday gift so I think you should be allowed to get that too as a freebie.
Hey,
I just got that vacuum a week and it’s great. It rivals the Dyson we have at the house and it’s a fraction of the price. I think that should be a freebie too…add something else to wish list, that one doesn’t count!
MR
Love Adobe Photoshop, but I think the shoes or coat would have to be my first picks! Christmas shouldn’t be practical! Hee hee hee…although I totally need a new vacuum cleaner! Good to know there’s something out there that’s cheaper than the Dyson pet hair version and works just as good!
I meant birthday’s shouldn’t be practical! Look at me, it’s only Monday and I’ve lost my mind!
I’m loving the coat. Its such a great color!
Love the jacket an shoes! That color blue is awesome!
Tory Burch flats are on my Christmas list!!! Love them.
I’ll take that vacuum too! The furminator helps, but it’ll never be enough!
Also….adorable jacket!
dying over that coat…
I don’t know, I personally try and buy several coats every season. At the rate I’m at, I will have 4-500 coats by the time I’m 80.
I love-love-love the double cloth lady day coat from J.Crew – I have it in black and feel oh so classy when I wear it
I wish you would have asked for more clothing items cuz I think you have great taste and I love to see what you like. As it is, I love the flats and the coat. I got some cheapo leopard print flats at Target that I adore!
My husband and I asked for a Dyson from his parents, and we LOVE it! We have 2 dogs and it works so well. I wouldn’t trade it for anything – including the Bissell that we had before the Dyson. It didn’t work nearly as well. Happy almost-birthday!
i love those flats! so cute……my first thought when i saw the coat was how good it would look with your eyes. i have that coat in black and love it.
we want to eventually get a dog, a lab or golden, and the ONLY thing holding me back on these breeds is the dog hair. i had labs in the past and they shed so much. i miss my dogs, but i sure dont miss cleaning up all those fur balls.
I want that vacuum cleaner!! And those flats are adorable!! You have GREAT taste!! (I love the coat too but it never usually gets too cold here in NOLA to have a variety of coats.
)
I *SO* want photoshop… I couldn’t think of a darn thing to tell BF I wanted for my birthday… and now… now I am reminded… SIGH
So funny! My birthday’s on the 9th and I’ve already got my list going too! Have you looked at the Dyson? My husband got that for me and let me tell ya-it’s life changing! We have 2 little dogs and lots of wood floors. We don’t even use the swiffer anymore, that vaccumm gets all of the hair up!
I am *dying* for Photoshop. I was taking a bunch of pictures this weekend and I think for everytime I snapped a picture I proclaimed that I wish I had Photoshop. I love the TB flats, too!
I’ll take one of each, please! That being said, is it wrong that I also (especially) want that vacuum cleaner as a gift? I’ll take “Old Age” for $200, Alex.
LOVE LOVE LOVE those shoes!!!!!
I have the Bissell Pet Hair Vacuum, and it is awesome!
My parents gave it to me and my husband for Christmas, and I love the attachment. It is great for vacuuming pet hair off of furniture.
Just a little FYI, in case you don’t get it from your gift list, you can get CS3 for DIRT CHEAP since CS4 is out now
I just bought the whole she-bang for a client for ~$350, when the Dreamweaver/Illustrator/Photoshop combo cost me that much originally.
We have two golden retrievers and the hair…oh my the hair. I honestly go crazy some days because I feel like all I do is sweep and vacuum dog hair! I really wanted the dyson but didn’t want to spend the money so we got the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser and I love it. It’s shocking how much dog hair comes up every time!
