The Blind Side was fantastic. And one of the best movie versions of a book for me in a long time. Todd and I both really enjoyed it.

It’s not the typical sports movie that is full of fluff and cheesy lines. This is a true story and everything from the movie is in the book. And it’s true.

I don’t take back everything I said about Sandra Bullock (in case anyone was wondering– ahem, Todd), but she did do an amazing job in this role. And this role was perfectly suited for her.

I saw it this weekend too, with my 10 yr. old daughter. The theater was sold out. We laughed, a lot, & I got teary-eyed. I especially liked 1) how she told off her high society friends for their bad attitudes during their lunch out, and 2) I really like how they added the real life photos at the end. I wonder if they/he ended up being able to help change his birth mother’s life as they years have gone by?

I’ll definitely be renting this one…. thanks for the review (and your reference to your husband in this post gives me the insight I suspected of your last post regarding Sandra Bullock).

Saw it yesterday and LOVED it. I had to stop myself from crying at the end when they showed real life pics!!!!

I also really liked Tim McGraw in this film and the boy who played SJ.

Absolutely agree! I laughed, cried, and made it my mission to be like Leigh Anne Touhy. One of the best movies I have seen in quite some time!

I can’t wait to see it and I know I am going to need a whole stack of tissues to get me through it. So happy you guys were able to get out and see it right away!

28 slynnro November 23, 2009 at 3:45 pm

It’s all true, save for Sandra Bullock’s ridiculously photoshopped ass in that ad.

30 misslily November 23, 2009 at 6:15 pm

saw the movie yesterday and LOVED it….it was so inspiring! after seeing both ‘precious’ and ’skin’ this past week, i was in dire need of a positive, uplifting true story. who knew faith hill’s husband tim mcgraw was so cute and such a good actor. i barely recognized him without his cowboy hat on!

34 Lis November 25, 2009 at 9:20 pm @lisloves

I’m so glad you liked this! I’m going to go see it now! I was thinking it was going to be super cheesy but my Mom had mentioned how it was based on a true story and that did interest me.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
