riding the horsey on Christmas morning!

by Blue-Eyed Bride on December 26, 2009

I hope everyone had the merriest of Christmases!

Christmas is so much fun with a baby! I know that each Christmas will only get more fun. The look on Hudson’s face when he walked into the room and saw all of his grandparents, great-grandmother, and uncle looking at him was priceless. Then he saw what Santa Claus brought him and he was so excited!

Santa brought him this Radio Flyer Rocking and Bouncing Horse. It’s wonderful. It’s soft enough for him to chew on. It has a little harness for the little kids. It’s supposed to be a great toy for him until he’s 3 years old. He can’t fall off, it makes “neighing” noises, and it plays “Home on the Range.” He bounces on it and has really mastered the art of bouncing on his little horse. I love that the bouncy horse doesn’t have springs, but instead uses industrial strength rubber bands! I think those old bouncy horse springs are scary!

His KK and Poppie gave him the Charles Dickens Nutcracker and have started a new collection. His RC and PC started a new train set for him. They plan to give him a new car for his train every year. I think it will be so much fun for him to look at his nutcracker collection and train set every Christmas when we decorate!

Santa knew that Hudson’s mommy and daddy would have trouble bringing all of his toys back to South Carolina in their SUV, so he delivered one of his gifts to Columbia. He got  the Melissa and Doug giant giraffe. I’m pretty sure the dogs will be more interested in the giant giraffe than Hudson is.

We had a great first Christmas with our little boy!

And… for those that were wondering, one of Todd’s gifts to me was the violet Hunter Wellies! I finally got them. I think they were my most-wanted item of the year, and this SAHM will appreciate not having to get her pants soaked in puddles anymore. My great gift-giving Todd got me a few other wonderful things that I’m so excited about!

Christmas really is so much more fun with children. I am looking forward to the days when Nick and I have babies to share the holidays with.

Your husband always does an AWESOME job with presents –– he should write a blog post and help some other husbands out. Haha. Mine either hits it out of the park or strikes out completely. There is no in between. :) Hope you all continue to have a wonderful holiday!

Merry Christmas to you! What a darling pic of H on the horsey!
Isn’t Christmas the best with a little one? We, too, had a wonderful Christmas morning with our 21 mo old. I was all choked up while taking pictures of him opening all his presents and playing with new toys.

Blessings to you and yours!

Merry Christmas to you and the fam! Hudson is so adorable, and your pictures always turn out so great! What type of camera are you using? Is it a point and shoot or a SLR?

Erin,
Merry Christmas! Looks like you’re having a wonderful time with family.
Not sure how cold it gets in SC, but if it gets chilly, get the fleece liners for your Hunters (they’re like a big comfy sock!). They’ve been a lifesaver for me these past two weeks in NYC.

Those pics of the horsey are too precious! I see that y’all went to Gatlinburg for Christmas. We were just discussing about going there for next Christmas with a bunch of our family. It’s been years since we’ve all been in one place at the same time! How did you like Gatlinburg and the cabin you stayed in? Would you recommend it? Is there a website? Thanks!

Erin…we had a blast with Georgia Kate too! Isn’t this the best thing in the world? Now I know why my mom always loved Christmas and doing the whole Santa thing. I will be blogging soon about all of GK’s fun things, but I am spending quality time withthe fam. My parents came in and we are hanging with them. Also…love the giraffe…GK has one in her nursery. It is so darn cute.

I was wondering if the sizing on the wellies was off for you? Did you order your exact size? I am having horrible luck with mine! And also, Hudson is absolutely beautiful I could just kiss his little cheeks!

Erin- your little guy is precious! It makes me sad my babies are 9 and almost 7! We, too, spent Christmas in Gatlinburg! It was snowy when we arrived on the 20th, but by Wednesday all the snow was gone! Did you rent a cabin, or have family there?

27 Ally December 29, 2009 at 11:06 am
