My picks for best dressed:
Rachel McAdams in Elie Saab
Love the silhouette and the print in muted colors. Her hair color is fantastic (though she can pull off every hair color) and it is the perfect cool blonde for the cool blues in the dress. Bravo!
Elizabeth Banks in Versace
I’m not a huge fan of hers, but I love this color, again, and think it looks amazing with her hair and eye colors. The fit is impeccable and so flattering on her.
Vera Farmiga in Marchesa
The color. The ruffles. The lines moving in all the right places.
Cameron Diaz in Oscar de la Renta
So I love this gown. As in I want to wear it now. I love her hair, makeup, and nails. But? I don’t think it looks very “Cameron Diaz.” But I love it.
I need to get to work on my Netflix queue and add some of these films. I’ve seen a handful of the nominees, but with a baby, it’s hard to just spend an entire Saturday at the movies.
The John Hughes tribute was wonderful. I grew up on these movies (as most kids did) and I’m so happy that he got a proper tribute from so many of the youngsters that he made famous. Those are the movies that you sit around and watch over and over again with your friends.

I loved Elizabeth Banks, too! I loved when Robert Downey, Jr & Tina Fey presented- they should host next year!

My favorite part of the Oscars was when the actors & actresses gave the personal introductions of the Best Actor Nominees!! I didn’t think the intros to the Best Actress Nominees were nearly as good though. Other highlights, loved Vera Farmiga’s hair. I wasn’t nuts about Steve & Alec. I thought they were boring. I wasn’t overly in love with any of the dresses but I do agree with all of your points above. If I had to pick one as #1 for the night… I think I would go with Rachel McAdams as well! She’s a doll and a half!!!!
The John Hughes tribute made me cry! Those movies define childhood for me. Once I moved to Chicago (where a lot of the movies were filmed), I started watching them and they have even more meaning to me! I thought Sandra Bullock looked great. I wish my hair was as shiny and thick as hers!

I agree with all of the above- except for Elizabeth Banks. However, I dislike her in general fro some unknown reason, so that might have colored my view of her dress. Plus I thought her hair looked brassy (says the girl who’s roots are out of control!).

LOVED Rachel McAdams, she’s always adorable. I agree completely about Cameron Diaz, I hardly recognized her at first glance, but she did look gorgeous. Another personal favorite of mine was SJP! She looked perfectly Carrie Bradshaw to me, and that always makes me smile!

i guess i’m missing what everybody is seeing with rachel mcadams. i do think the hair and makeup was right on target as well as the color of the dress, but i didn’t like the print at all. it reminded me of a bedspread at quality inn or water colors.

I love Rachel McAdams’ dress! It reminded me of a Monet or something! I actually thought Cameron Diaz look really good…different…but maybe different for the better?
Cameron was my fave, but I also thought Demi and Sandra looked great. I loved Ben Stiller’s Avatar getup, and I thought Sandra’s acceptance speech was cute! I was happy she won.

I think Rachel McAdams was my favorite too. I loved that watercolor effect on the dress. Cameron reminded me of my first Barbie Doll with that dress on. I agree it wasn’t very Cameron.
Loved Cameron Diaz’s dress. Gold dresses are my favorite- always! Didn’t enjoy the shape of SJP’s dress. It did nothing for her. Rachel McAdams can do no wrong! Miley looked cute- but why did her mother sorta match her? I don’t get it.
