Grammys!

by Blue-Eyed Bride on February 13, 2012

Sometimes I watch the Grammy Awards and sometimes I don’t. I did this year because, thanks to Glee, I knew some of the songs. And as I said last night on Twitter, I like watching the Grammys so I can test drive all the songs and see what I should be listening to. (We don’t listen to a lot of radio in our family because the DJs’ conversations are often inappropriate for toddler ears and the commercials for strip clubs are kind of embarrassing.)

So, thanks to the Grammys, I now have a list of songs that I need to download and add to my iTunes.

I stopped watching the Grammys after the Whitney Houston tribute (which was really understated in the best way possible), but wanted to share some of the highlights for me.

Bruno Mars’ performance made me so, so very happy! I loved it!

Adele raked in the Grammys! Yay for Adele!

And a flawless, timeless, haunting performance by the lady of the night!

Every single thing about this picture makes me laugh. I love Blake and Miranda and think it’s hilarious that they were seated next to Lady Gaga.

And the gorgeous Carrie can do no wrong. She sounded great and she looked beautiful.

What were your favorite Grammy moments?

I also loved Bruno Mars. During his performance, I thought, “This is how it should be done, people!”

I adore Adele. Especially her performance last night. No fancy lights, half dressed {fine lookin’} men making a scene. It was her. A few instruments, 4 back up singers and her. Singing. Live. That to me is what the Grammy’s are all about!

the seating of Blake and Miranda had to have been slightly awkward, my husband and i both did a double take when we saw who they were seated next to last night. Miranda looked beautiful last night and Blake tribute to Glen Campbell was great!!!

Can you post the list of tunes you downloaded?

I felt the exact same way about Bruno Mars’ performance. I had a huge smile on my face throughout it. Now I want to see him live! Carrie did look fabulous. She is the definition of red carpet perfection!

I was also hoping for a list of the songs you downloaded!

Bruno Mars was definitely my favorite of the night!!! I just couldn’t help but smile and dance a little while watching him. Loved it! And so glad that Adele received the recognition her amazing voice deserves! I stuck it out to watch the show for a bit after the Whitney tribute song, but trust me – you didn’t miss much. Nicky Minaj’s performance ended Grammy night for me – it was terrible! Count your blessings that you didn’t see it – it truly was disturbing!!!

I couldnt agree more!! Oh Adele. Love her. Such a classy woman! Same with Carrie. How is she such a beauty?!

My hubby and I died when we saw Miranda & Blake sitting next to Lady Gaga. I dont even know what to say. Ha! I love them!

This has nothing to do with the Grammy’s, but did they ever figure out what happened to Tracy Turpen? It may be a touchy subject and I don’t want to be nosy but the whole story broke my heart! She seemed like a wonderful person! You were so lucky to have gotten to work with her!

Only caught bits and pieces. Love that LL Cool J opened show with a prayer. Adele did wonderfully. Thought Hillary (of Lady Antebellum) looked gorgeous. Didn’t like T Swift’s dress. I’m calling Carrie as preggers. Why didn’t they sit Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and that Nikki Minaj girl together? That way, the cameras knew which way not to look.

I think if I could do my wedding over again I would want Carrie’s dress!!! WOW she looks amazing! I love Adele, and also loved Rihanna’s performance. I missed the end, but youtube’d the Whitney tribute and though Jennifer Hudson was a perfect choice. So sad.

WOW, ads for strip clubs on the radio? That is crazy! I loved Bruno Mars’ performance too! And I’m also wondering what Blake Shelton and Lady Gaga were talking about in that photo; I always wonder what people talk about when they’re seated next to each other at awards shows, especially random pairings.

Totally agree! Bruno Mars’ performance was my favorite with Adele at a close second. That picture of Blake, Miranda, and Lady Gaga is hilarious. I feel like it should be one of those write your own caption pictures. Love it!

I agree. Lady Gaga sitting next to Miranda was HILARIOUS!! It took me a while to notice because every time they were on screen my eyes couldn’t get over the crazy netting!

The closing act with the old guys was great. Sir Paul, The Boss, Joe Walsh…. pretty good music. It’s great to know that people still like songs with words you can understand (unless, of course, there are misheard lyrics in there somewhere….”bury me inside!”).
